Caralynn V. Nowinski, M.D.

Associate—Founder of Biotech Startup, 2 Yrs VC Associate

As an Associate with ARCH Development Partners, Caralynn took an active role in due diligence, financial modeling/valuation and monitoring of portfolio companies. In 2005, she co-founded SanoGene Therapeutics, an early-stage biotechnology spin-out from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, and she currently serves as the company's President and Acting CEO. Prior to medical school, Caralynn managed two NIH-funded clinical research programs, during which time she authored several book chapters and peer-reviewed scientific articles based on her research in neurology and psychiatry.

Caralynn graduated with honors (B.S.) from Northwestern University and received degrees in Medicine (M.D.) and Business Administration (M.B.A.) at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she was invited into the James Scholar Program for Independent Study for Gifted Students in Medicine.
