What We Look For
Investing in early-stage technology opportunities requires access to excellent platform intellectual property from multiple sources, strong early-stage management and a clear exit strategy. Before an investment is made, rigorous due diligence will determine that the company has access to a unique technology that satisfies a market need and that the company will receive adequate financing to ultimately reach the target customer. Generally, the Midwest Venture Fund invests $1 to $3 million into its portfolio companies.

     • Proprietary product or service
     • Sustainable competitive advantage
     • Viable business model
     • Large markets
     • Experienced management team
     • Appropriate use of funds
     • Target 10-15x growth (5-7 years)
     • Objective: M&A transaction or IPO in 5-7 years

Submit a Business Plan

MVP looks forward to reviewing qualified business plans, although the Fund does not plan to initiate investments until the latter half of 2008. In the meantime, interested entrepreneurs may submit an executive summary to: info@midwestvp.com

We also encourage these entrepreneurs to seek out regional angel networks, accelerators and economic development groups to further develop and assess their start-up venture.
